KP Government Announces 2,800 Chowkidar Jobs in Government Schools
Recruitment and Merit-Based Selection
The provincial Finance Department has granted formal permission to fill these vacant positions. To ensure transparency, the KP government has mandated a strictly merit-based process:- Open Competition: All appointments will be made through public advertisements and competitive procedures.
- No Direct Hiring: Direct or internal appointments are strictly prohibited to maintain fairness.
- District-Specific Hiring: Candidates must belong to the respective district where they are applying.
District-Wise Vacancy Allocation
The 2,800 positions have been distributed based on population density and the number of educational institutions in each area. Key allocations include:
- Mansehra: 377 posts (highest allocation).
- Bannu: 263 posts.
- Mardan: 256 posts.
- Peshawar: 162 posts.
- Lakki Marwat: 160 posts.
- Abbottabad: 154 posts.
Eligibility and Application Process
The government is targeting unemployed individuals with limited formal education for these roles.
- Education: Basic or low-level education is sufficient.
- Requirements: Applicants must have a valid CNIC and domicile from the relevant district.
- Application: Interested candidates should monitor local newspapers for official advertisements and follow the instructions provided to submit their documents.
Broader Educational Reforms
Under the leadership of Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Faisal Khan Tarakai, this recruitment is part of a larger effort to improve the provincial education sector. In addition to these 2,800 security roles, the KP government is also in the process of recruiting approximately 17,000 teachers on merit to address the shortage of teaching staff.
Officials have stated that the recruitment process for watchmen will be completed soon, allowing newly appointed staff to assume their duties immediately to help maintain a safe learning environment.
