Pakistan’s Young Squash Stars Shine at Scottish Junior 2025

Pakistan’s junior squash players delivered impressive performances at the Scottish Junior 2025, securing championship titles in both the Under-13 and Under-15 categories and once again highlighting the country’s rich squash legacy.

Muhammad Mustafa Claims Under-13 Title

In the Under-13 final, Muhammad Mustafa produced a confident and controlled performance to defeat Hong Kong’s second seed Nicholas Man Soh. Mustafa remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, displaying excellent composure, technical skill, and maturity beyond his age to lift the title.

Sohail Adnan Dominates Under-15 Category

Pakistan’s success continued in the Under-15 category, where Sohail Adnan clinched the championship after defeating China’s Yuan Xi Liu in the final. Adnan delivered a dominant run, winning all his matches convincingly and completing the tournament with a flawless record, marked by consistency and discipline.

A Strong Message for Pakistan’s Junior Squash

The victories by Muhammad Mustafa and Sohail Adnan underline Pakistan’s strong presence in international junior squash, reflecting the depth of emerging talent and the sport’s continued growth at the grassroots level.

Federation Concerns and Player Participation

It is worth noting that the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) had earlier decided to withdraw from the US Junior Open, Scottish Junior Open, and British Junior Open due to concerns regarding players’ ages and recent changes in age categories.

Despite this decision, more than a dozen Pakistani players opted to participate in the Scottish Junior Open. According to sources, the PSF is expected to review this matter in its upcoming meeting and decide on any further action.

Looking Ahead

Regardless of administrative challenges, the outstanding performances at the Scottish Junior 2025 serve as a positive sign for Pakistan squash. With proper support, guidance, and structured development, these young athletes have the potential to become future ambassadors of Pakistan on the global squash stage.
